This series consists of minute books, which are a record of the meetings of the president and the board of directors of the Branch Bank. Included are the descriptions of the various resolutions that were voted on, a record of how the members of the board voted on each resolution, the date of the meetings, and the names of board members. Also included is a record of the notes approved for discount and other decisions pertaining to the operation of the Branch Bank and the government of Alabama. The reading of letters from Gov. Benjamin Fitzpatrick is also recorded. In some of the volumes indexes are included. Some of the minute books also have newspaper clippings, announcing the sale of land and slaves, describing lawsuits, and announcing the commissioners' findings on good, bad and doubtful debts of the Branch Banks, glued to the inside front cover.
